Daryl Sherfey has written a variety articles and poems for collegiate, U.S. Army and Christian publications. He has also published a middle reader’s adventure novel The Toad Road, and a devotional Let Us Consider, Seeking the Courage to Live True, which is due to be released in September 2020. He holds a BS in forestry and an MBA from the University of Washington. Daryl also served as executive pastor at an evangelical church in the Northwest. He and his wife of fifty years have four adult children and twelve grandchildren. They currently reside in the Northwest.

About the Author - Dr. Justin Sherfey Dr. Justin Sherfey is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon, visionary healthcare entrepreneur, and devoted Christian whose career bridges the art of medicine and the science of business. With decades in private practice, he has become a respected leader in both patient care and healthcare management. 

Raised in a small farming community in the Pacific Northwest, Duvall, Washington, Dr. Sherfey learned early the values of perseverance, integrity, and service. His education began at Washington State University in Pullman. 

He went on to earn his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Botsford General Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, followed by a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Western University of Health Sciences in London, Ontario, Canada. He has owned practices in Washington State and California. Today, his work reflects not only medical excellence but also the enduring principles of faith and stewardship that guide his life. 

Outside the operating room and boardroom, Dr. Sherfey enjoys spending quality time with his extended family. An avid outdoorsman, he finds renewal in hiking mountain trails and surfing ocean waves, pursuits that reflect his adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for God’s creation. In recent years, he has developed a passion for writing and exploring the intersection of faith and leadership. Jordan Sherfey is an aunt and children’s author who delights in creating playful, bilingual stories that spark imagination, curiosity, and meaningful connection. Inspired by the special bond she shares with her niece, Jordan’s work celebrates the wonder found in everyday moments—those small, quiet adventures that become lasting memories when shared with someone you love.

Her debut picture book series, A Purrfect Day with Auntie J, grew out of time spent reading bedtime stories, exploring the outdoors, and turning ordinary days into imaginative play. Whether digging in the garden, splashing by the pond, or listening to the rain, the tales highlight that learning happens best when children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to imagine.

The books are written for young readers ages 3–6 and feature rhythmic, read-aloud-friendly text paired with charming animal characters. Each story is presented in both English and Spanish, supporting early bilingual learning while making stories accessible to a wider range of families and classrooms. Jordan’s goal is to create books that caregivers enjoy reading aloud just as much as children love hearing them again and again.

At the core of Jordan’s storytelling is the relationship between an aunt and her nibling—a bond built on trust, patience, and shared joy. Through gentle guidance and imaginative play, Auntie J helps her curious niece (or nephew in some books) navigate new experiences, overcome small fears, and grow in confidence. Every book in the series ends with the same comforting line, reminding children that love, connection, and play make every day special.

When she isn’t writing, Jordan enjoys dreaming up new adventures for Auntie J, sketching story ideas, and continuing to find inspiration in the wonder-filled world of childhood. Her hope is that each story invites families to slow down, imagine together, and celebrate their own purr-fect days.
